... but so bad that a dealer just wants it gone? I mean I feel like $350 is more than I would be willing to spend on one since I’m not a drug dealer...

I’m thinking typo or one of those “oh yeah, that’s 350/month”

I’ve seen it plenty of times on local CL with the scummy dealerships. We get a lot of “$52!!!! /week” around here as well. Grimy.

“Price and payment may vary depending on qualification”

I dare you to call him, tell him to hold the car, and that you’re a cash buyer. During the test drive, be sure to mention you’re a Law Student! Your dad has a firm that specializes in false advertisement. Afterwards you display printed ad, lay it and $350 on the table.

Come on, you know this is just fishing, right?

The $350 is per month, and that is “depending on qualification.” So if you have great credit, you can probably get this RR for $350 a month for 74 months.

This is just another crappy salesman tactic. That RR is listed on their site for $21,877.

EDIT : Yeah, I’d guess 74 months....

I’ve never considered the fact that I may need a trigger warning, but that headline almost got me.

“FAST and EASY loan by phone, or on line approvals GOOD, BAD, OR NO Credit!!”

Yeah, that’s not a shady dealer trick at all...

I understand scummy dealerships (and people) are everywhere, but it makes me sad they’re in Hawai’i (Honolulu Craigslist). As one of the indigenous locals told me when my wife and I honeymooned there (and paraphrasing): “You’re in paradise. How can you not be nice to everyone?"

Of course I know this is fishing, but it is actually also false advertising and as far as I am aware illegal. He is advertising a vehicle for sale at $350. And there is nothing in the craigslist ad to say it is anything different. No listed payment amount, no actual sticker price. I get upset and use humor to deal with it.

I want to. I want to do that so desperately. I’m not sure my wife would let me spend another $350 on a a vehicle right now.

There’s no typo. The dealer is just sleazy and using false advertising, or stupid and doesn’t know anything about the law and thinks because everyone should know that you wouldn’t sell that vehicle for $350 that people will assume it is a payment and so isn’t worrying about writing everything he legally has to write.

Sorry, it wasn’t personal to the vehicle. I would have used the same Headline with any vehicle where a dealer has done this.
